IDR is seeking a Data Engineer to join one of our top clients for an opportunity in Houston, TX. This role is integral to strengthening the retail division's Business Intelligence capabilities, requiring expertise in data management and visualization. The position offers a dynamic environment focused on designing scalable data solutions and collaborating with various business units.
Position Overview for the Data Engineer:
- Gather large and complex data sets to meet business requirements
- Redesign data marts for scalability and optimization
- Ensure data architecture supports existing and future business needs
- Create and maintain operational dashboards and executive reports using tools like Tableau or Power BI
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and analytics teams to implement best data engineering practices
Requirements for the Data Engineer:
- 4+ years of data management, modeling, and BI experience
- Hands-on experience in programming languages like SAS, R, or Python
- 3+ years of SQL experience with a strong understanding of dimensional modeling
- Good understanding of cloud technologies, with at least 1 year hands-on experience in AWS and big data ecosystems
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI
